These discussions are intended to provide opportunities for peer
engagement, idea generation, and discussions of innovative solutions
and practices related to achieving and maintaining compliance with the
PREA Standards.
Further, these sessions provide an important opportunity for the PRC
and the PREA Management Office (PMO), within Bureau of Justice
Assistance at the U.S. Department of Justice to more deeply understand
the unique PREA implementation challenges and strengths of smaller,
locally operated facilities. The PRC and the PMO will use the lessons

The PREA Management Office (PMO) and the National PREA Resource Center (PRC) hosted a four hour convening event on Saturday, January 6, 2024, for PREA stakeholders as part of the American Correctional Association (ACA) winter conference in National Harbor, MD. The convening featured updates from leaders of the PMO and the PRC, as well as timely and relevant topics for juvenile justice and correctional facilities, agencies, PREA auditors, advocates, and other stakeholders interested in discussing PREA implementation and its challenges.
