SEARCH staff assisted the Saddle Brook Police Department with locating the law enforcement guides for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Requester was advised that those entities have established law enforcement web portals to handle legal requests for information. Requester was also provided with the current information for each entity from the SEARCH ISP List database.

SEARCH staff assisted the Ravalli County Attorney’s Office with accessing information in the SEARCH ISP List database. Staff provided instructions on how to search the database for specific company information by utilizing the web page interface and drop down list.

Staff suggested what data needed to be collected and preserved immediately and recommended other resources the department could contact to trace the destination of the funds.

SEARCH staff assisted the Michigan State Police with obtaining legal contact information for Netgear and their Arlo wireless camera system regarding a homicide investigation. Staff contacted Arlo technical support and obtained instructions for requesting a litigation hold on a user’s account, as the video data expires 7 days after it is uploaded to the Arlo system. Staff provided instructions to the requester to assist in their investigation.

SEARCH staff assisted the Brandeis University Police with locating contact information for "hoi-polloi.org," a Germany-based email gateway, regarding a bomb threat investigation. Staff located the domain registration for hoi-polloi.org, which contained contact information for the registered owner, including address, phone, and email address. Staff provided these details to the requester.
