Join the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund for their 33rd Annual Virtual Candlelight Vigil on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. ET. This year, hundreds of names will be engraved on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial walls in Washington, D.C., bringing the total to 22,611 officers killed in the line of duty memorialized there.
An in-person event honoring the fallen will be held during National Police Weekend, October 13–17, 2021.
Join the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund for their virtual National Police Week events on May 9–14, 2021. The events will focus on officer safety and wellness as well as honoring fallen officers whose names were recently added to the National Law Enforcement Museum’s Memorial. The 33rd Annual Candlelight Vigil will take place Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
In person events will take place in Washington, D.C. on October 13–17, 2021.
Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance, The Council of State Governments Justice Center (CSG Justice Center), and the University of Cincinnati for their conference “Taking the Call: A National Conference Exploring Innovative Community Responder Models.” The inaugural event will take place on May 20, 2021 at 2:00–3:30 p.m. ET, and the conference will take place on October 20–21, 2021 (visit CSG Justice Center’s website for more details). Registration is required for both events, which are free and open to the public.
Join the Council of State Governments Justice Center for their Judges Psychiatrist Leadership Initiative (JPLI) Leadership Summit on May 12, 2021 at 8:00–9:30 p.m. ET. The event will be “an evening celebrating judicial and psychiatric leadership to improve outcomes for people with behavioral health needs.
Join the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) for their National Crime Victims' Service Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 23, 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. ET. At this virtual event, OVC will honor individuals, programs, and oragnizations for their oustanding service in supporting victims.
The National Reentry Resource Center, supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, will host information about National Reentry Week on April 26–30, 2021. Reentry topics will include employment, education, behavioral health, housing, youth and families, making reentry work, and the importance of evaluation.
CNA plans to gather all FY19 and FY20 SPI awardees to discuss SPI principles, successful sites, and provide an opportunity to meet with BJA and the CNA TTA team.
This session identified key elements of strategic messaging to reach audiences with clear, relevant information based on program data and described communication tools, methods, and approaches to increase knowledge, raise awareness, and promote community support of their program.
South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Academy requested a presentation for a conference to be held May 16-19, 2021. Center staff met with them to identify topics of interest and narrow to two session to be presented during the conference: "Before, During and After Treatment: Best Practices and Promising Approaches in Peer Recovery Support, " and Mapping for Good: Using GIS Mapping to Better Understand, Plan, Evaluate and Communicate.”
