This brief provides an overview of the key points discussed during the workshop on "Addressing Stigma in Peer Recovery Support Services" held at the RISE 2024 Conference in Anaheim, CA, on May 24, 2024. The session was hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Access & Recovery Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) through Altarum and was presented by Tyrina Taylor, MPH, Diana Williams, LCSW, and Joseph Sanchez. The session focused on identifying and addressing stigma within the implementation of Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS).
Developed a toolkit for grantees and those in the field to gain information regarding Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) as well as how to locate RCO's in their area. The toolkit provides information on how to connect with and work with RCOs and the type of collaboration that an entity may want to pursue.
Met with CHJ-TASC to discuss collaboration and the needs of their grantees. Discussed collaborative publication on the integration of peers in police departments.
An explanation of the similarities and differences between pretrial, probation, and post-release supervision, including definitions, distinctive features, and roles in graphic form from the CSRC.
