Maryland's Virtual 17th Annual Problem-Solving Court Symposium was held December 14, 2021. NDCRC will host a webinar with BJA Policy Advisor Gregory Torain and Tracy Lee-Williams to provide detailed instruction on and tips for applying to the BJA FY 21 Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program The session will incorporate an interactive question and answer session; it will also be recorded and available for viewing after initial broadcasting.

NDCRC co-directors Kristen DeVall and Christina Lanier served as guest presenters at the 10th annual Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Enhancement Training hosted by the Tribal Law and Policy Institute on September 30, 2020. The presentation provided a framework for increasing a program’s capacity to collect and utilize program data including what types of data should be collected, how to collect, and the best practices for sharing the data with the team and stakeholders.

Most officers know the expression “get off the X,” the idea that remaining in one spot during a gunfight cannot only be dangerous, it can be deadly. This webinar will assist participants in addressing the after-effects of job exposure to violence. “Getting off the emotional X” (a phrase coined by Dr. Olivia Johnson) is the idea that staying in a place of emotional conflict and turmoil can increase the likelihood of negative outcomes. Operating in this emotionally turbulent state can become habitual.
