On September 24, 2021, an analyst from the Hawaii Department of Defense, Office of Homeland Security, Hawaii State Fusion Center, Clarence Clites, contacted the SLATT Program seeking information regarding no-cost online training for fusion center intelligence analysts, and annual fusion center in-service training. In response, the SLATT team provided the analyst SLATT resources and a comprehensive list of online training programs currently sponsored by BJA, SLATT, the FBI, and DHS.

On July 15, 2021, the SLATT Program was contacted by Ms. Jennifer Fisher, Basic Law Enforcement Training Coordinator for the North Carolina Justice Academy. The North Carolina Justice Academy offers training programs to criminal justice personnel; provides technical assistance to criminal justice agencies upon request; and develops and distributes educational and training materials. The mission of the academy is to serve the citizens of North Carolina by enhancing the careers of criminal justice officers through research, education, and training.

This report documents the process and findings of an environmental scan of the virtual delivery of the Memphis Model Crisis Intervention Team training curriculum. The goals of this report were to: (1) gather and share best practices in the development and online delivery of crisis response products and tools; (2) develop a better understanding of challenges to the virtual delivery of a CIT curriculum; and (3) provide insight to the field on critical content, technological platforms, and online delivery models.

Throughout the period of January through March 2021, this project received and addressed, via email and phone communication, requests for information on anti-human trafficking training, technical assistance, and resources. The project staff tracked, addressed, and has kept record of all requests addressed through funding from award 2017-VT-BX-K101.

NCJA proposed 10 regional strategic planning workshops in varying locations. The 2-day workshops were based on those hosted through the 2016 Strategic Planning and Technical Assistance Program and were intended to provide hands on 1:1 technical assistance, access to SMEs, and insight for participants from peers as well as to review, edit and improve upon their plans.

The 2020 Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives was held virtually on September 24, 2020. Hosted by the National Governors Association (NGA) and the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the event brought together Governors’ criminal justice policy advisors (CJPAs) and state administering agency executives (SAAs) to discuss a variety of criminal justice and public safety issues, hear from federal partners, and share best practices.
