Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance On June 17th, Recidiviz got approval from BJA for the statement of work, budget, and budget narrative documents, allowing the project to move forward. On June 27th, Recidiviz and the CSG Justice Center team met with the Parole Division at TDCJ to discuss the project parameters and TA opportunities.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In June, TDCJ reported that one of the staff hired under this grant has resigned, so TDCJ has moved all the virtual programming to the remaining staff that were hired under this grant. TDCJ has submitted the revised position description for Human Resources to post the vacancy. CSG Justice Center staff continued the discussion surrounding the first implementation of the pilot Anger Management on Parole virtual program.

Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In May, TDCJ submitted the purchasing order for the GoTo training software that they will utilize to conduct the virtual program, and are awaiting final approval from the state budget office. CSG Justice Center staff continued the discussion surrounding the first implementation of the first Anger Management on Parole Virtual program. CSG Justice Center staff and TX TDCJ formulated an action plan for the 11 participants removed from the program due to excessive absences.

Objective 1:Â Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In April, TX TDCJ had to delay the start date of their program to May 1, 2024, due to staff having to take the required facilitator T4T course on April 15. The 12-week Anger Management on Parole virtual course is currently scheduled to meet once a week and has 47 qualified participants who completed the interview process who are now registered and have received the required curriculum. Enrollment in the first cohort is closed, so all new referrals received will be for the next cohort.

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance Recidiviz and the CSG Justice Center spent the month of April adjusting the scope of the project to align with the constraints and capacity of TDCJ Parole IT. Â Director Collier gave the green light to proceed with next steps.Â

Objective 1:Â Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In March, TDCJ reported that they successfully hired staff for all vacant positions supported by the grant and are working with GoTo software to purchase a webinar software package that will allow for breakout room sessions to train staff.Â

Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance Recidiviz and CSG Justice Center staff spent the month of March collaborating with the TDCJ Information and Technology Division (ITD) to secure the necessary permissions and data to]Â build its tools. Specifically, Recidiviz brought in its implementation software engineers to have conversations with both centralized TDCJ ITD and Parole Division-specific ITD professionals over data needs and data transfer protocols.
