Attended the April meeting of the Domestic Violence Prevention Coordinating Council to provide an overview of the project and our process for collecting and analyzing data. (22 participants representing 16 agencies)
Meeting with Jerry Collins, (Director, Louisville Metro Department of Corrections); Jessica Moore (Chief District Court Judge); and Ann Bailey Smith (Chief Circuit Court Judge) to learn more about the local jail and courts’ practices when handling cases involving domestic violence. (3 people representing 3 agencies)
Meeting with Senator Whitney Westerfield (Republican, Senate District 3) to discuss project updates and explore the possibility of an expanded Justice Reinvestment Initiative in the state. (1 person representing 1 agency)
Meeting with Angela Yannelli (CEO, ZeroV); Meg Savage (Chief Legal Counsel, ZeroV); Nakela Cleveland (BIP Sr. Program Specialist, ZeroV); Katie French (Chief Operating Officer, ZeroV); and Olivia Spradlin (Sr. Program Specialist, Meaningful Access and Strategic Partnerships, ZeroV) to share project updates, learn about the funding issues the agency has experienced, and receive some suggested focus areas.
