In April, CSG Justice Center staff worked internally with leadership to edit the round 2 briefs (AL, VT, MT, WY) and sent the AL brief to BJA for an associate-level review. Â
In March, CSG Justice Center staff continued developing the state briefs. Round 1 briefs (GA, MO, RI) are with BJA Communications for edits and feedback in the design layout, and Round 2 briefs (AL, VT, MT, WY) are with internal CSG Justice Center leadership for review.
In February, CJI and CSG Justice Center staff updated language regarding the JRI state map on the website to denote BJA-funded states. In addition, CSG Justice Center and CJI staff worked with BJA to approve and update the language for the “Other JRI-Funded Projects” section on the individual state pages. Lastly, CJI and CSG Justice Center staff continued working on revisions to the round two state briefs. CJI staff shared their remaining briefs with BJA.
In January, CJI staff and CSG Justice Center staff finalized the “News” tab feature and added relevant articles to include on the JRI website. The “News” tab feature went live and is now accessible for the public to view. In addition, CSG Justice Center staff and CJI staff continued developing new materials for the JRI website, such as a mini mockup of new content for the “Other JRI-Funded Projects” page and new language for the JRI state map to denote states funded by BJA.
7/6: Video call with Nikki Miguel (Communications Specialist, CJI), Abigail Strait (Senior Policy Specialist, CJI), Ashley Neufeld (Design & Digital Media Specialist, CJI), Maureen Flanagan (Policy Specialist, CJI), Clarissa Dias (Senior Policy Specialist, CJI), Valerie Meade (Director, CJI), Ben Shelor (Senior Policy Advisor, BJA), and Jeffrey Locke (Senior Policy Advisor, BJA) to discuss the continued update of Category 1 documents, as well as the progress of the Category 2 briefs and the website dissemination strategy. Â
In December, CSG Justice Center and CJI staff continued developing new materials and additional features such as a ?News? tab to be added to the JRI website during the next phase of development. In addition, the National Summit to Advance States? Criminal Justice Priorities (National Summit) took place in Atlanta on Dec. 5?6 and was hosted as a collaborative effort with BJA and other partners. The Summit highlighted JRI accomplishments throughout all 50 states.
In November, CSG Justice Center and CJI staff conducted a joint promotional effort to launch the JRI website on November 9 and continued developing new materials and features to be added to the website later. Both CJI and CSG Justice Center staff finalized the first round of state briefs for BJA review and feedback. Finally,?CJI and CSG Justice Center staff continued internal discussions to determine how frequently website updates will occur and agreed that internal updates could occur quarterly, and cross-agency updates could occur semiannually.
In October, CSG Justice Center staff and CJI staff continued developing drafts of state briefs for their respective states. CSG Justice Center staff and CJI staff built out the next steps for the website, identified future content and information that will be added after the website?s launch, and drafted a template to help gather and identify information for the JRI-funded projects page.
In September, CSG Justice Center staff collaborated with CJI staff to finalize the state brief template, develop timelines for when briefs will be written, and designate which organization will author each brief. CSG Justice Center staff provided BJA staff with a rough content draft of one state brief based on initial feedback. In addition, CSG Justice Center staff and CJI staff worked to build out the next steps for the website and identify what additional content will be included.
In August, CSG Justice Center staff collaborated with CJI staff to draft an outline of the structure for the next phase of the website, which included more resources and information about select JRI-funded programs. Further, the group met throughout the month to plan the development and timeline of the Category 2 and Category 3 briefs that will be posted on the JRI website. Finally, CSG Justice Center staff worked with CJI staff as they drafted a template for Category 2 briefs and revised it based on feedback the team received.??
