The National PREA Resource Center is piloting PREA Academy Investigations Training (PAIT), a new course for corrections professionals who are responsible for conducting administrative sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment investigations at their facilities. This eleven-week virtual training course will utilize asynchronous learning, group discussions, and skills-based training focusing on investigative methods and techniques. Learners will also have the opportunity to build an investigation through the development of an investigative scenario.

This meeting brings together all SAKI grantees to provide guidance towards 1) acheiving goals and objectives of their awards, 2) identify effective ways to incorporate sexual assault as part of violent crime reduction strategies in their respective jurisdictions and 3) learn strategies on how to establish multidisciplinary teams to support violent crime response.

The NRTAC hosted the 7th Annual Regional CGIC Multi-Site Training in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cincinnati CGIC assisted in the organization of the conference and invited participating CGIC grantees to tour their facilities. The conference was a mix of panel presentations and breakout sessions. Presentation topics included the state of gun violence in the U.S., leveraging NIBIN in violent crime investigations, NIBIN and the preservation of forensic evidence, and using acoustic gunshot detection evidence in the courtroom.

An integrated and comprehensive week of memorial activities that honor the memory of the officers lost in the line of duty, and building the basis for law enforcement survivors to understand ways they can begin to rebuild their shattered lives. C.O.P.S. Survivor's Conference includes over 70 counseling and debriefing sessions facilitated by professional counselors and peer support staff each year.
