Presentation with the University of Florida (grantee/learning site) and Chief John Ojeisekhoba on the use of 988 on college campuses. This presentation was a panel discussion on the successes and lessons learned for college campuses since the 988 roll out. U of F also discussed how 988 fits into their existing co-responder program.
NTCRC co-directors Dr. Christina Lanier and Dr. Kristen DeVall, NTCRC director of psychology Dr. Sally MacKain, and social science researcher Lindsay Baker gave four scheduled presentations and filled in for one additional presentation during All Rise's RISE24 conference in May 2024. In this presentation, Ethan Aaronson provided an overview of Connect & Protect as an opportunity for funding co-responder programs. Ethan provided information on the grant and grant process. The presentation also included information on technical assistance and how TA can add value to the planning and implementation of PMHC programs.
CSG Justice Center staff attended a virtual Maine Statewide Convening on Diversion and Deflection. The presentation highlighted the work at the Portland, Maine Police Department and the work of the Council of State Government. The Staff provided information on the various projects CSG is involved in, including the Law Enforcement Learning Sites, Police Mental Health Collaboration Toolkit, Community Responder Toolkit, how to inquire about technical assistance and directed the group to the CSG website for further resources.
In this conference presentation, an overview of the Stepping Up framework was be provided as a foundation from which communities can develop collaborative approaches to reducing the incarceration of persons with serious mental health and/or substance use needs.
Hallie Fader-Towe joined the Public Safety Partnership's Prosecutor Community of Practice to speak to attendees about behavioral health diversion and the Prosecutor Call to Action. The CSG Justice Center identified and invited 2 site examples to present during the meeting.
