CSG Justice Center staff responded to 33 JMH Partnerships Support Center Level 1 requests from the field.
NACDL and its partners offer ongoing technical assistance to capital defense teams who attended Bring-Your-Own-Case (BYOC) programs or in-office training programs conducted under the Capital Case Litigation Initiative (CCLI). This technical assistance leverages topics covered during the BYOC programs, surfaces topics that are needed in future training programs, and helps NACDL and its partners track and monitor trainee teams’ case status.
▪ Connected Greensboro (PD) with the Law Enforcement-Based Victim Services TTA team from IACP to provide information on victim’s compensation funds that are established within and by a police agency (this was referenced in Recommendation #84 of their NCCP Assessment).
▪ Coordinated with the Greensboro (NC) assessment team to provide more information regarding two recommendations (4.2 and 4.7) to help them understand why the assessment team made these recommendations to ensure that the necessary context is included in their Departmental Directive.

On January 4, 2024, we presented a session along with colleagues from the Pennsylvania and Minnesota Departments of Corrections highlighting the Zero Returns to Homelessness framework. Participants received a comprehensive overview of the strategies, measures, and resources of this evolving framework, as well as an in-depth look at key research and practice-based TA strategies designed to guide state DOCs and their community partners toward implementation of reentry housing initiatives that expand housing access for individuals reentering their community.
CSG Justice Center staff presented at the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) Major County Prosecutors Conference, providing a discussion of JMHCP, Propelling Change, and an upcoming curriculum to support prosecutorial decisionmaking.

At the NAWLEE Conference, CSG Staff presented along with the Yavapai learning site, OJP partners and Mifflin County Pennsylvania. The one hour session was focused on showcasing successful crisis response programs in rural areas. Yavapai and Mifflin County provided an overview of their programs and discussed lessons learned. CSG staff discussed the federal funding opportunities for police mental health collaborations.
Hallie Fader-Towe and Katie Holihen presented to the CHHS's Justice Impacted Work Group at the invitation of Stephanie Welch, Deputy Secretary of Behavioral Health. The CSG Justice Center team presented a new tool for state leaders working at the intersection of justice and health and discuss implications for cross-systems planning in CA.
