All Technical Assistance Providers for CTAS Grantees were invited to present a TTA Overview at the in-person FY24 CTAS New Grantee Orientation in Seattle, Washington on January 14-15, 2025. The Tribal Law and Policy Institute is a TTA provider for CTAS - Purpose Area 3 grantees with Tribal Court projects under the Tribal Court, Justice Systems, Intergovernmental Collaboration Project; and for Tribal Healing to Wellness Court projects under the Tribal Justice TTA Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts project.
The webinar was delivered on December 19, 2024: The Supreme Court’s Eighth Amendment Jurisprudence: Impact on State Capital Cases. The Webinar was 60 minutes in length and Dean Erwin Chemerinsky spoke in his usual knowledgeable and eloquent way about how recent SCOTUS decisions from various Capital Cases indicate a distinct shift in how the Justices view how states should handle Capital Cases. The webinar was attended by 81 participants and was evaluated quite positively for the content delivered.
This summit will address key youth violence issues facing the criminal justice field. The three webinars were Understanding the Current Data and the Adolescent Brain, the Importance of Prevention and Early Intervention, and Reduction and Diversion Strategies. October 2 (109 attendees), October 9 (73 attendees), October 16 (64 attendees)
