The Baltimore Police Department would receive onsite and off-site training and technical assistance to help them develop a FY'16 grant strategy; identify new FY'16 public and private grant opportunities; and provide coaching/advice re. approaches for future grant submissions.

BJA requests that Mr. Stewart Bruce speak at the 2015 International Association for Crime Analysts (IACA) Conference . The conference is scheduled for September 22, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Bruce will discuss data sharing to improve local crime analysis.

Technical assistance with the implementation of The Drug Market Intervention evidence-based model. This engagement consisted of one day of training, and one day of individual follow-up meetings with stakeholder agencies. Training participants consisted of mainly Camden County Police Department officers (and other ranks), other Camden County personnel, as well as members from the Newark (NJ) VRN site, Wilmington (DE) VRN site, and West Memphis (AR) VRN site.

The Camden County Police Department is requesting assistance to enhance access to probation data. In order to do this, the New Jersey Courts needs assistance in determining how to best extract the data and to receive a demonstration on how a web enabled system can not only help Camden County access their public data, but every county in New Jersey as well.

To meet crime prevention needs in the City of Wilmington, the Wilmington Violence Reduction Network (VRN) requests training in Crime Prevention through Environmental

The city of Detroit faces significant public safety challenges that include high rates of violent crime. A number of initiatives, including a number of federally-supported initiatives, are in place. The Detroit VRN team’s impression is that the impact of these initiatives could be enhanced through greater coordination across efforts. Analytics, technology support, and training may assist efforts to coordinate across initiatives and create greater synergies within specific agencies and across the network of local, state and federal criminal justice agencies and stakeholders.

The Chicago Police Department requests two Blue Courage Training for 30 participants each, one Blue Courage certification course for 30 participants, and technical assistance to develop internal CPD Blue Courage Master Trainers. The Blue Courage training course will provide self-improvement, increased engagement, stress management, development of resilience, and improvement of the overall health and well-being of all employees in the department.

Over the next two years the Arizona PSN site will be implementing a focused deterrence project related to violent gangs. Lt. John White was assigned to this project after the project was submitted and has little background on the pulling levers theory or focused deterrence. After attending the PSN Partner Orientation Course here in Phoenix he was invited to both Fresno and Kansas City to meet with the officers and stakeholders involved in the project and observe a call in meeting to see not only how the meetings are ran, but logistics involved in setting a meeting up.

Camden County Police Department is requesting the major crime scene preliminary investigation training.

Rhode Island is seeking an assessment and re-validation of their existing parole risk instrument. Assessing and refining the existing parole risk instrument will ensure that parole discretion is supplemented with sound research and data.
