The purpose of this event is to allow OJJDP Second Chance Act (SCA) grantees to share ideas and learn from one another to build capacity to continue service delivery during a pandemic. This informal conversation will allow grantees to connect with one another and share best practices and resources.The NRRC will host 3 panelists (2 OJJDP grantees and 1 JustLeadership Navigator) to share their experience during a 75-minute discussion on service delivery during a pandemic .

On May 4, NCVC hosted a webinar focused on domestic violence issues and concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specific topics included viable solutions for those at the federal level to reach out and connect with state and local service providers, successful strategies Safe Horizon and other service providers have implemented to combat this issue, and recommendations for law enforcement responses through strategies aimed at innovative methods for court access, shelter, safety plans, and increased use of technology.

Webinar: “Pandemic Lessons, Police Accountability and the Shifting Role of the Prosecutor”

In the past two months, prosecutors' offices and court systems across the nation have seen their daily work to maintain constitutional justice uprooted, altered, and halted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, in response to George Floyd’s death, the criminal justice system also began facing calls for expanded police accountability. The role of the prosecutor is changing rapidly and the steps that prosecutors take in the upcoming months could impact the justice system for years to come.

Join CNA and the National District Attorneys Association for their upcoming  webinar on June 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Attendees will learn about three offices’ experiences throughout COVID-19 and the challenges that prosecutors will face in future months.

Webinar – “COVID-19: Justice Response for Community Supervision”

This virtual meeting will provide an overview of the current statutory framework for community supervision and prison release that enables a rapid response to COVID-19 and highlight policies of concern to states during the pandemic. Attendees will also hear from practitioners about how policy is playing out in the justice system and have an opportunity to ask questions.
