The NCVC PSN TTA team hosted a training for the FL-S PSN team focused on trauma-informed investigations and prosecutions in domestic violence (DV) cases in the nine counties in the
southern district of Florida. This training will be led by the National Center for Victims of Crime and the CNA Institute for Public Research.
This training will provide attendees with the following:
1. An understanding of foundational trauma neurobiology, DV dynamics, and best practices for
collaborating with and complementing local DV service providers;

On March 9, NCVC hosted a webinar focused on traumatic victimization and police interview and investigation techniques to improve domestic violence and sexual assault case outcomes. Speakers included Dr. Justin Ramsdell, a law enforcement trainer and respected forensic psychologist from George Mason University, and Ret. Det. Justin Boardman of Valley City (Utah) Police Department. The webinar received positive feedback as to speakers and content; it also received over 200 attendees. Nine of nine feedback survey respondents rated their satisfaction with the webinar overall as positive.

In response to a TTA request, NCVC began planning a virtual district-wide training for FL-S that will focus on trauma-informed investigation strategies for police and prosecutors in domestic violence cases. NCVC has confirmed training speakers and has submitted a training proposal to FL-S, which is currently being reviewed. NCVC expects to conduct this full-day, virtual training in September or October.

Description: The PSN TTA team is hosting a virtual training for the AL-N PSN team focused on
improving trauma-informed justice system responses and the intersection of firearms and domestic
violence (DV) in Jefferson County. This training will be led by the National Center for Victims of Crime and
the CNA Institute for Public Research.
This training will develop attendees’:
1. understanding of the importance of interagency partnerships for successful prosecution of DV
cases, including the value of partnerships between federal and local agencies;

Webinar - From Child Welfare to the Juvenile Justice System: Disrupting the Abuse to Prison Pipeline For Girls

This webinar will examine how experiences of gendered violence create pathways for girls into the juvenile justice system, with an emphasis on crossover from the child welfare system into the juvenile justice system and how girls in the child welfare system are more susceptible to sexual exploitation.
