The Role of Sheriffs in Deflection and Pre-Arrest Diversion
The eHealth Exchange (eHx) Pilot Project succeeded last year in proof of concept but has been stalled, since then awaiting BJA to sign the DURSA agreement. That has been delayed due to the amount of fees needed along with the signing. In the interim, IJIS staff has spent a significant amount of time exploring eHx integration potential benefits in order to provide justification for BJA to fund it so it can go into production. If the DURSA agreement is signed, the Pilot Project shows much potential for a yearlong evaluation of eHx’s integration value.

The following Project Management activities were conducted by the IJIS team during this reporting period:
The 2023 West and South PDMP regions’ joint meeting was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 15-18, 2023. The meeting was hosted and facilitated by PDMP TTAC staff members.
An in-person meeting of TTA providers has not yet been scheduled; however, the PDMP TTAC staff will participate when the meeting is held. PDMP TTAC staff members participated in four TTA collaborative conference calls with BJA representatives.
During the reporting period, the PDMP TTAC team participated in weekly conference calls with BJA leaders to discuss current PDMP projects and activities. Biweekly, written status reports on PDMP TTAC deliverables and activities were also provided to BJA. In addition, the TTAC team participated in one quarterly COSSAP provider call with BJA
During this reporting period, PDMP TTAC staff members participated in the development of a PDMP-related track for the 2023 COSSUP National Forum to be held on August 29-31, 2023, in Arlington, Virginia.
The PDMP TTAC team has been involved with BJA’s GrantStat Program in previous years and, utilizing the GrantStat measurements, identified PDMPs that needed specialized technical assistance. However, BJA did not request the PDMP TTAC teams’ participation in the GrantStat Program during this reporting period. The PDMP TTAC team will fully participate in GrantStat upon request and will take whatever action is deemed appropriate by BJA to assist grantees in meeting performance and deliverable requirements
