Many Second Chance Act grantees focus on specific target populations (e.g., Black men, transition-age youth or young adults, members of Tribal Nations) to address needs of the program participants that are not being met through other services. This webinar included behavioral health reentry programs that are focused on developing culturally responsive programming for their communities. Program staff shared how they are approaching culturally affirming program development to meet the needs of people reentering the community.
Second Chance Act grantees have people working with and without lived experiences. This webinar aims to address the importance of incorporating working with people with lived experiences and the contributions they add to participant engagement, program structure, and functionality. The webinar discussed program design and the different strategies they use to engage their population. Panelists were able to share their roles in the program and a brief description of their lived experiences and how this assisted with moving the work forward.
