This session will provide participants insight into the surprising similarities of victims and police officers that will help connect the complex thought patterns of a victim in trying to survive the moment and in the long term.

FC122 Intellectual Property Theft Training (May 2019)

This course introduces the problem of intellectual property (IP) theft and provides tools, techniques, and resources for investigating and prosecuting these crimes. A combination of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises illustrates the potential dangers and economic repercussions of counterfeit products, as well as best practices and techniques for investigating IP theft. Students are provided with a state-specific workbook that includes relevant statutes, sample organizational documents for IP investigations, and additional resources for investigators and prosecutors.

Cold Case Solvability and Using Science in Investigations

This is the third in a 4-part webinar series on defining, implementing, and managing a cold case unit. COAP Webinar: Partnerships to Support Data-Driven Responses to Emerging Drug Solicitation Webinar

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Institute for Intergovernmental Research is releasing the Partnerships to Support Data-driven Responses to Emerging Drug Threats Grant solicitation. This is part of a series of demonstration projects funded under the Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program. These demonstration projects are designed to build capacity, foster cross-sector collaboration, and support innovation. Under this solicitation, up to 6 communities will be selected for grant awards up to $600,000, each for a 24-month period.
