NTAG Rocky Mountain reached out to BJA NTTAC for assistance in gaining access to the SLATT website resources. BJA NTTAC referred this inquiry to SLATT initiative staff at the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) on 8/8/2018.
BJA NTTAC contacted BJA Policy Advisor Julius Dupree for more information about forthcoming training opportunities. Mr. Dupree provided NTTAC with the contact information for Nan Benally, the Program Manager for the BJA Tribal Community Corrections initiative. Ms. Benally's information was then shared with the requestor.
NTTAC referred the requestor to the National Gang Center who will reach out to discuss the request in more detail.
Development Services Group, Inc. (DSG) requested information around school safety for a webinar they are hosting for OJJDP Youth Violence Grantees. Coordinator reached out to DSG to gather more information about which areas of school safety and age groups they need resources for. Coordinator will gather relevant resources from the BJA provider directory for DSG.
Common Ground requested information on materials related to human trafficking. The BJA policy team provided information on the Trafficking Task Force E-Guide and the OVC website on human trafficking.
Katie Rossomondo, with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), requested resources related to officer resiliency. The coordinator reached out to Cornelia Sigworth Sorensen and Deborah Meader to gather more information about current BJA initiatives on this topic. The requestor was then referred to Deborah Meader for assistance.
Momentum for Mental Health requested information on Assertive Community Treatment training. BJA NTTAC provided the requited with a list of provider that may offer that training in their area.
Rick Skilliter requested information on CIT curriculum availability. BJA NTTAC provided information on the draft CIT curriculum in development at BJA and provided contact information for Police Research Associates, Inc., who are planning CIT trainings for the upcoming year.
NTTAC received an email from a probation officers in Florida seeking resources related to preparing a plan to adjust a policy on officers carrying firearms. BJA NTTAC responded to the requester with contact information for the American Probation and Parole Association, as well as information on the BJA Census of Adult Probation Supervising Agencies and an intensive probation program in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Anna McLean of the Hinsdale, Illinois Police Department requested resources related to best practices and procurement information around digital camera systems. The BJA NTTAC TTA Coordinator reached out to David Lewis and John Markovic who referred this informational inquiry to the BJA Body-Worn Camera Toolkit TTA Provider.
