The CSG Justice Center has made significant progress on new efforts to establish the Law Enforcement (LE) Technical Assistance (TA) Center (a temporary name until the official name is selected with BJA), an objective through this award. As proposed, the CSG Justice Center will set up and operate a national center and information clearinghouse to advance state, local, and tribal policy and practice that will both increase the adoption of collaborative responses and improve existing Police-Mental Health Collaborations (PMHCs).

The Urban Institute serves as the main point of contact for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative for potential sites. In that role, Urban monitors a JRI email address, through which it fields questions from potential JRI sites. Urban also responds to media inquiries and general questions from academics and practitioners about JRI.

Michigan State University, School of Criminal Justice (MSU) received the 2018 award for Category 1 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) provider. MSU will work with CNA (Category 2) and NCVC (Category 3) throughout the grant period to provide assistance to the national PSN program, BJA, OLP, EOUSA and any other entity requesting assistance implementing PSN strategies.

Bureau of Justice Assistance Supports Responding to America's Opioid Crisis, Session: Jails and Public Health: Continuity of Care in the Opioid and Polydrug Epidemic. Session Description: The public health model of correctional care embraces the opportunity to serve members of the public who are incarcerated during a pre-sentencing jail stay that may be short-term or a sentenced stay extending up to two years.
