This event was hosted by the Office of Justice Programs in partnership with the National Gang Center and National Public Safety Partnership (PSP). In support of the Biden-Harris Administration’s comprehensive strategy to prevent and respond to gun crime and ensure public safety, DOJ is convening experts in a virtual listening session to help create a Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Implementation Checklist that will provide guidance and resources for jurisdictions seeking to implement comprehensive, community-based strategies for preventing violence.

On July 2, 2021, Call with mentor- Seattle LEAD. TA resulted from the call. Based on this call it seems like Seattle LEAD is no longer the best fit for Duluth of the direction they have gone in to best fit their community’s needs. One of the reasons for the match initially was to discuss case management and diverting charges and now Duluth is doing direct outreach. Mentoring status TBD. More TA needs identified for mobile outreach. Offered to connect to two other sites doing mobile outreach and will continue to sent related resources. Next Call TBD.

Dutchess county is seeking support to help us stand up a pilot program we are seeking to do with City of Poughkeepsie Police. Assistance is needed with officer training; case manager and peer training as well as curriculum development.

10.22.21 CHJ held a call with Dutchess County about planning and implementation of LEAD modeled programs. CHJ followed up with many resources (OFR resources, motivational interviewing, resource library, case studies, etc.).

Dutchess County requested time to review all resources and requested a follow up meeting in the new year

Grantee reached out request TTA appropriate to their current stage of program development and to review some of theirchallenges, and see if there are resources or connections we could direct them to. Call was scheduled for 8.10.21

Grantee was looking for information on methadone prescribing data. CHJ conferred with the PDMP TTAC team and were informed that closest thing that might exist is who is licensed to prescribe methadone which would be housing in the state PDMP. No further information requested at this time.
