APPA delivered a two-day Case Management Practices for Tribal Probation Personnel Training in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on June 21-22, 2016. A total of 10 scholarships were initially awarded to attend the training; however, four officers failed to attend last minute (one tribe instituted an immediate travel restriction for all staff, one officer was terminated, and the other two gave no reason for their no-show status).

APPA hosted a 2-day Motivational Interviewing Skills Training for Tribal Probation Officers in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on October 20-21, 2015. A total of 11 officers attended the training and were provided scholarships to cover their travel and lodging.

This 24 hour course was designed for law enforcement officers who are patrolling major highways, city streets in all parts of their communities, including all rural areas. This course has been designed to address the issues, in which they are commonly encountered by the officer during a criminal interdiction encounter.
