Chief Holland requested an update on the status of the Action Plan. IACP then faciliated a meeting between the entire Hempstead BCJI Team on 3/20/23, then sent a follow up email with the most recent iteration of the Action Plan, and the preliminary feedback.
Chief Holland requested an update on the status of the Action Plan. IACP provided information on the preliminary Action Plan review. IACP then faciliated a meeting between the entire Hempstead BCJI Team on 2/1/2023.
The site asked if they can use BCJI funds to support victim services. It was a line item in the original buget, but BJA advised them that it would not be an allowable cost. IACP assessed other avenues for funding, and whether it would be possible to use BCJI funds for this purpose.
The IACP worked with its BCJI Consultant Safe Night to develop a plan for one-day training sessions on it's two areas of focus. IACP informed site practitioners of this opportunity. A couple sites expressed interest in receiving these trainings.
The site is applying for another grant, which would allow funds for additional training. The site inquired if IACP knew of any training opportunities for 2024. The IACP provided some feedback and recommendations.
The site requested to meet with BJA to discuss the Action Plan Budget. IACP coordinated setting up the meeting.
The site asked IACP how to update their Action Plan budget to reflect travel to the CVIPI conference. IACP directed the site to ask their BJA grant monitor, and offered to assist with outreach.
Upon receiving the final version of the Action Plan, IACP inquired into content that appeared to be out of place. The site infromed IACP the language was an artifact from a previous version, and IACP adjusted the document before submitting it to BJA.
The grantee site sent IACP a copy of it Partner Initiatives document, and Action Plan strategies document, and requested feedback. IACP provided feedback to strengthen the Action Plan submission, and enhance the strategies and programs listed.
The site was interested in learning more about the Newark Community Street Team's Public Safety Round Table. IACP provided contextual information, links to recordings of past meetings, and connected the site with the Newark Community Street Team.
