Healing Conversations is a transformative and vital series, where the power of empathy and emotional support converge with the pursuit of justice. Guided by a licensed therapist, this unique program has been thoughtfully designed to bolster the efforts of the Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations and Prosecution Program grantees. At the heart of "Healing Conversations" lies the recognition that unresolved trauma and collective pain continue to reverberate through generations affected by historical injustices.

11/21/2024: Met to discuss need to develop a strategic plan which has SMART objectives/goals/outcomes, and KPIs. I sent along more resources about developing KPIs or LHD plans that have good KPIs. I will meet with them again to review their revised plan and go over new KPIs and SMART goals.

"They are particularly interested in streamlining (narrowing) their list of KPIs, table 3, p 19). Senior leadership told them that they wanted more prevention related vs infrastructure KPIs. I told them to make a strategy priority aligned to more of their violence prevention programming because these are about infrastructure. They decided that the revised strategic priority 2 will be more aligned with their OFR committee work.

"The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center and the Center for Health Care Strategies are excited to announce a six-month Medicaid and Corrections Policy Academy on behalf of the Bureau of Justice Assistance, a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs. The Policy Academy will bring together teams of senior executive agency leaders from four to six states to develop multi-sector collaborative planning to leverage Medicaid for improving reentry outcomes for people in the justice system who have complex needs.
