The PRC executes the decertification process when decertification of an auditor is issued by DOJ. No auditors were decertified during this period. One auditor voluntarily surrendered their certification between July and December, 2023.

On December 6, 2023, Michele Luecking-Sunman organized and facilitated a virtual panel for the National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement titled Expanding Oversight with PREA. Linda McFarlane of Just Detention International, Gwyn Troyer of the John Howard Association, Ryan Nottingham PREA Agency Coordinator for Illinois Department of Correction, and Terry Schuster, New Jersey Corrections Ombudsperson spoke on utilizing the PREA Standards to enhance oversight within corrections facilities across the United States.

The National PREA Resource Center is piloting PREA Academy Investigations Training (PAIT), a new course for corrections professionals who are responsible for conducting administrative sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment investigations at their facilities. This eleven-week virtual training course will utilize asynchronous learning, group discussions, and skills-based training focusing on investigative methods and techniques. Learners will also have the opportunity to build an investigation through the development of an investigative scenario.

The auditor feedback form is comprised of complaints submitted to the PRC from various sources of information pertaining to PREA audits (e.g., Victim advocates, corrections staff, PREA Coordinators, etc.). These complaints are reviewed regularly by the PRC, and BJA. Certain complaints are referred to PMO for a more in depth review depending upon the nature of the complaint.

The 2023 delivery of PREA 101 was a unique and exclusive opportunity provided by the National PREA Resource Center, in partnership with the PREA Management Office at the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) in the U.S. Department of Justice.

Operated the Path Back to Certification program for auditors who had previously failed recertification and had been allowed by the PREA Management Office to take part in this program. Tasks associated with running the Path Back program include communicating with PMO and auditors enrolled in the program; creating, assigning, and monitoring coursework and small group educational sessions; enrolling auditors in exams; and tracking their progress throughout the program's run.

Operated the recertification process for auditors who were due to be recertified on December 2023. This includes communicating with auditors on a regular basis, tracking completion of recertification requirements, and administering the recertification exam, in addition to coordinating with the PREA Management Office to send status notices to auditors.

The Council of State Governments Justice Center hosted the Second Chance Act (SCA) Kickoff event. The event featured discussions on the state of reentry, the role of the National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC), and the progress in reentry since the SCA's inception, addressing current challenges and future goals. Key topics included the coordination of SCA technical assistance, enhancements to the NRRC website, updates on the NICCC and Clean Slate Clearinghouse websites, and upcoming work under the Reentry 2030 project.
