The Center proposes to contract with the Tribal Law and Policy Institute to create a new Tribal Healing to Wellness Court section within the Online Learning System adn develop new training content focusing on issues relevant to tribal courts.

This training is a response to an on-site training and technical assistance request from several legal aid organizations (Tribal Civil and Criminal Legal Assistance sub-grantees) for basic trial advocacy skills and/or criminal defense skills.
Project TEAM traveled to Alaska for two days in May and July to deliver on-site TA to the Kenaitze Indian Tribe Tribal Court judges, judges from the Kenai Superior Court and other local stakeholders (including the district attorney, local law enforcement, probation, public defender, and service providers in the area.) The goal of the meetings is to develop a joint jurisdiction court to deal with adult, non-violent drug offenders in the community.
