We are excited to invite you to an upcoming webinar, "Kevin & Avonte's Law Webinar: Safety Around the Home," designed to provide valuable tools and strategies to safeguard individuals with the propensity to wander.
This webinar will teach attendees about the importance of creating layers of protection at home and how to implement them effectively. Participants will:
Identify at least three ways to safeguard a home for someone with a tendency to wander.
Gain access to essential wandering safety resources.
On December 17, 2024, a webinar was hosted to introduce the new Kevin and Avonte site-based grantees to key grant stakeholders, including representatives from BJA and the TTA team. The webinar served to orient grantees to their roles and responsibilities, provide an overview of the grant program, and introduce the TTA team’s resources and support services. This session laid the foundation for effective collaboration and ensured grantees were well-equipped to implement their programs. Further details about the webinar and its content are available upon request.
Presented work on grant to members of the Community Oriented Police Services Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Workgroup.
From July 1 to December 31, 2024, the TTA team provided targeted training and technical assistance to site-based grantees via email. These communications focused on key areas such as program implementation, removing barriers to successful program completion, connecting sites to valuable resources, sharing best and promising practices, and fostering community connections. Specifically, the emails emphasized strategies for building relationships with law enforcement, first responders, and healthcare providers to enhance program outcomes and community impact.
