Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Salisbury Team a total of three (3) time to provide customized TA. They are in the process of hiring a clinician who initially failed the background check due to a one-time marijuana use but can be brought on as a contractor until January. The clinician will need to update her licensure through the county Department of Health.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Norton Shores team a total of one (1) time to provide customized TA. Meetings with the hospital involve many stakeholders, leading to communication issues, and they need a more formalized handoff process. The grant has advanced their county significantly and they are exploring other grant options to sustain progress. Officers spend significant time in the ER, and telehealth co-response is used by some agencies to manage calls. They closed out their grant in September 2024.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Rio Arriba team a total of three (3) times to provide customized TA. The site discussed the TTT attended by two deputies and expressed a desire to take CRIT from another site before implementing it themselves. They are working on a county-wide CRIT initiative, with the first class scheduled for December and plan to train all deputies by September. Dr. Lanier is excited about integrating this training into the academy and is working on the implementation plan for informal review.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with the core team of the Rapid City site two (2) times to discuss programmatic updates and provide customized TTA. Site is in the Implementation Phase of the grant and has been running their program smoothly. Site worked through challenges with their local BH services provider and continued to integrate CRIT work with other DOJ grant work in their communitee.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Ottawa County team a total of two (2) times to provide customized TA. Discussed the transition of responsibilities following a retirement, the structure of their grant, and the importance of accurate implementation plans. Reviewed a well-received training program and the allocation of project funds, with plans for future training. Talked about adapting to new AI features, hiring a new clinician, and the challenges of balancing advocacy with law enforcement responsibilities.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Jefferson County team a total of two (2) times to provide customized TA. The site is continuing the same classes, including an 8-hour MH first aid class in July for command staff. They are doing well with grant requirements, have approved a budget change, and are considering NCE again. Juvenile justice issues are rising, and they may need to add more content on juveniles. They have trained various agencies, including the VA Hospital Police, and received honors for their CIT contributions.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Los Angeles team a total of three (3) times to provide customized TA. They had their first in-person delivery in May and are planning a second class in October. They are finishing up filming and editing videos for online training, with a launch planned before the end of 2024. A no-cost extension has been approved through April 2025, and they are working on post-certification for their courses. Leadership support is strong, ensuring program sustainability after the grant ends.

This team is in the Implementation Phase of their grant and has indicated not needing further TTA support. IACP staff have periodically checked in with them to see if there is any customized TA we could offer or support their project. Site has been made aware that the TTA team is available for calls, emails, or virtual meetings as needed or desired.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Lancaster County Team a total of two (2) times to provide customized TA. The co-responder program is evaluating bids, with a decision expected by mid-January. They have attended several conferences and are planning upcoming training sessions, with positive feedback on their current programs. An NCE has been approved, extending the project until September 2025. They are also in the process of hiring co-responders and have seen improvements in participants' attitudes towards mental health and knowledge.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the New Jersey team a total of two (2) times to provide customized TA. The no-cost extension has been approved for 12 months. The June CRIT training for trainers went well, with adjustments needed for roleplays and training blocks. An August CRIT training is scheduled, and data collection will begin with pre/post evaluations. Site provided valuable peer-to-peer assistance with another corrections site on developing strong relationships with local universities for data collection purposes.
