Apr. 23: Meeting with Mike Parker (Area Manager, Division of Community Corrections) to tour Phoenix Recovery Center, a transitional housing facility. While there, CSG Justice Center staff had the opportunity to speak with individuals working in different roles at the facility including a parole officer, and the facility director. Objective 5: Place data analysts in residence at State DOCs to increase the utility of data for decision-making while also building the corrections analyst workforce.    Â
Mar. 11: Meeting with Clarke Tucker (Arkansas State Senator and Task Force Member) to provide a preview of the most recent version of the presentation and discuss the Task Force. (1 person representing 2 agencies)
Mar. 11: Meeting with Mike Rogers (Arkansas Chief of Workforce Development) to continue our discuss of the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet’s vision for employment in Arkansas (1 person representing 1 agency)
Mar. 11: Attended the March meeting of the Legislative Recidivism Reduction Task Force to provide the Task Force with a presentation of evidence-based practices. (16 participants representing 14 agencies)
Mar. 11: Meeting with Ben Gilmore (Arkansas State Senator and Task Force Chair), Tawnie Rowell (Executive Director of the Arkansas Sentencing Commission and facilitator of the Task Force), and Howard Beaty (Arkansas State Representative) to provide updates on the status of the project’s data requests and discuss next steps for the project. (3 people representing 4 agencies)
Objective 4: Provide intensive TA to 10 states, supporting the adoption and use of the Justice Counts metrics to drive decision-making.
Meeting with Jordan Reardon (Justice of the Peace) and Mary Navarro (Judge Pro Tempore) from Globe Regional Justice Court to introduce them to the project. They opted in at the end of the meeting.
