• Meeting and training with the Montana Board of Pardons and Parole (MBPP) staff in conjunction with Senior Manager (CEPP) on best practices in parole board decision-making.
• Meeting with Government Affairs Coordinator (Office of the Governor) and Chief Legal Counsel (Office of the Governor) to discuss the transition of the Montana Board of Pardons and Parole (MBPP) to a full-time professional parole board and to review the executive clemency process.
• Meeting with Director (Human Resource, MDOC) to review programming observations, discuss oversight of sex offender treatment, and to plan for observations of women’s gender-responsive programming.
• Attend the Montana Crime Control Conference Plenary Session on justice reform through cross-system partnerships.
• 10/10: Call with MDOC Deputy Director, MDOC Human Resources Director and six MDOC staff to discuss sex offender treatment programming, best practices, oversight of sex offender programming, and needs within Montana.
• 10/12: Call with MBPP Acting Chair and 4 MBPP staff to discuss pardons, victim input, strategic planning, and next steps.
• 10/13: Call with MBPP Member, Government Affairs Coordinator (Office of the Governor), MDOC Human Resources Director and four MDOC staff to discuss a November substance abuse conference, community stakeholder engagement, and upcoming site visits.
• 10/13: Call with Bureau Chief (Probation and Parole Division, MDOC), Chief Executive Officer (Boyd Andrew Community Services), and five MDOC staff to discuss modifications to MDOC's Montana Incentives and Interventions Grid (MIIG) as a result of Senate Bills 63 and 64.
• 10/20: Call with Administrator (Probation and Parole Division, MDOC), MBPP Member, and two MDOC staff to discuss the budget crisis in Montana, political dynamics, and resistance from prosecutors and judges in relation to justice reinvestment policies.
