In September, Utah’s JRI Coordinator reached out to CJI to request a combined version of the various trainings CJI has prepared for the state, in the hopes they could be used for new Probation Officers during their initial field training. The whole training will now last two days: the first day will be Principles of Effective Intervention (PEI) and Core Correctional Practices (CCP), and the second day will be Effective Case Management (ECM) and Graduated Responses (GR).
In September and October, CJI created a combined training for Utah which can be done in two days: the first day covers Principles of Effective Intervention (PEI) and Core Correctional Practices (CCP), and the second day covers Effective Case Management (ECM) and Graduated Responses (GR). The slightly compressed nature of these trainings means Utah will more easily be able to schedule time to train new Probation Officers during their initial training, and will also make booster trainings for existing staff easier to fit in. This training is an important part of training sustainability in Utah, and can be found attached.
