La Crosse County, Wisconsin requested specialized training to promote research driven-based practices gleaned from its participation in the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Evidence Based Decision Making Phase VI program to local corrections practitioners. The Carey Group was selected to fulfill the request and provided the two-day training to 10 local justice practitioners in La Crosse, Wisconsin on February 21-22, 2018.
La Cross County is a Evidence Based Decision Making phase 6 site. They recently completed Phase 5, which involved a knowledge based survey of DOC Defense, Prosecution, and Judges, to gauge knowledge of evidence based practices. They now need to increase that knowledge and make the organization's evidence based programming sustainable.
La Crosse County Wisconsin seeks qualified personnel in their area to deliver training in evidence based practices to Department of Corrections, Defense, Prosecutors, and Judges in their area. They would like to accomplish this through a train-the-trainer program designed to train select individuals in each of their service areas and facilitate the distribution of knowledge to their peers. The Carey Group has provided similar training in the past, though not to La Crosse County.
