A sector-based employment approach brings together employers from the same industry along with educators, workforce development agencies, and others to address labor shortages and prepare job seekers for work and career advancement. With a sector-based approach, employers identify key skills that are valued by the industry, and job training is designed with employer input to equip students with those key skills. Furthermore, sector-based training programs target industries with projected job growth. This webinar is for corrections, workforce development, and education agencies interested in improving the employment outcomes of people with criminal records.
Presenters will:
· Provide an overview of the sectoral approach;
· Give examples of successful sectoral partnerships; and
· Discuss opportunities to create sectoral partnerships to serve people with criminal records.
