APIA requests assistance in planning for better coordination and delivery of services to the Alaska Villages they support. These services involve Public Safety and VPSO training, Mental and Behavioral Health service delivery, and Self Governance. The challenge for them is the vast delivery area they serve causes them to focus on individual need or crisis response rather than a uniform delivery across all of the 12 Villages. The goal is to proactively create a more uniform service delivery to all communities and to build capacity at the community level, and not just respond to those with the greatest need at the moment.
