Fund one speaker to lead a plenary and breakout session at NACM/IACA's Joint Annual Conference and coordinate and present 2 sessions. How We Can Resist a Culture of Injustice and Help Reform the System From Within (Breakout Following Plenary).

Plenary—The Power of Culture: Working Together to Achieve Justice. With culture being a powerful, but subtle, force that shapes every person within a system, this session will examine how culture is created, consider how it might drive us to contribute to unjust outcomes, and consider strategies to combat cultural pressures that are inconsistent with what justice demands of us.

Breakout—In this workshop, we will look at our day-to-day experiences in order to consider the subtle pressures we may face to accept procedures inconsistent with justice. We will then work collectively to brainstorm strategies to resist those pressures and contribute to fairer justice outcomes.
