This training is titled, "The Tactical PO: Police/Probation Partnerships". The training was requested and took place in Wooster, Ohio. In total, 24 probation and police officers participated in the training. Due to the hands-on nature of the program, the number of participants was limited.
The objectives of the program were for participants to be able to:
Give the primary work duties that result in the greatest number of hazardous situations for probation/parole officers.
Describe how to increase threat recognition skills.
Discuss the legal mandate established by Davis v. Mason County.
List 3 characteristics of armed gunmen.
Discuss the main points of Graham v. Connor.

Discuss “Best Practices” in handcuffing and transporting offenders.
In addition to the classroom presentation, attendees participated in numerous scenarios relating to making home contacts and conducting searches. In some of the scenarios police were there as a back-up for the probation officers, and in other scenarios situations were created where police
