The Nevada Highway Patrol requested 50 Blue Courage: Heart and Mind of the Guardian participant kits. Blue Courage, Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and shipped 50 participant kits to the Nevada Highway Patrol in August 2017.
Police across the country as well as here in Nevada have an urgent need to be reminded why they chose this noble profession. The NHP has recently been given training in the Blue Courage program and now has 14 new facilitators for this amazing program. The NHP budget has little to no money left for training for this fiscal year and little is expected in the next budget. In order to get these new trainers presenting the Heart and Mind of the Guardian program to the division, help will be needed in obtaining the necessary training materials for the course. Our goal is to present this program to all sworn members, 470+, and to use the new facilitators to accomplish this. This will help our officers survive and thrive in this profession as well as give them tools to make proper decisions based on their intellect rather than their emotions.

The NHP Strategic plan identifies "Formalizing Blue Courage Training" as an objective over the next two years. The upper command of the organization has received the training and recognized the value of getting it out to all officers.
