Milestone Title
BJA FY15 Grantee Coaching: New Mexico Dept of Public Service
Milestone Description

Call with Cheryl James 4/13/17. The grant is now is adult only (the juvenile agency opted out). New budget and narrative was recently approved; worked with Lucia Turck. Next week there is a meeting with NM DOC, who will be the sub-grantee for the award and they will carry the whole project. The project has changed a lot. Cheryl will send Talia the new narrative to review. OCFO wanted additional changes so it went back and forth a couple more times before being approved. Jillian Shane (PC for DOC) has been heavily involved. The agreement btw DPS and DOC should be signed this week, though, it is not in hand yet. There is a staff person at DPS designated for the grant work (and draw downs) and 2 support staff at DOC for Jillian to have additional capacity to do the grant work at DOC. Goal 1 - Trauma-informed. Goal 2 - IM education pilot (video and materials and focus groups) and bring in a consultant to assist with content; transgender is an important focus as well as LEP/disable. Goal 3 - specific to the whole community. Goal 4 - staffing(??). Cheryl anticipates a kick-off meeting once the SGA (sub-grantee agreement) is signed. Anticipating a time extension. SGA signing meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday.

FY15 PREA Demo Grant: New Mexico DPS
Milestone Description

Coaching of this demonstration site continued. Update from the site: Cheryl James is no longer with the agency. Sylvia Serna is the point of contact. The site is still working closely with the subgrantee; New Mexico DOC. Just submitted a GAN for match. Its been slow to get positions filled and they didn't start spending until May of June 2017, but it is moving and working toward grant goals. Robin Bruck is now the acting PREA Coordinator since Jillian Shane received a promotion, though, Jillian is still heavily involved.

Milestone Description

Sylvia, the PREA Demo Grant point of contact, reported that she has regular contact with the subgrantee (point of contact: Jillian Shane), but didn't offer details about grant work and progress thereof.
