The Indigent Defense Study Committee, a study group formed by the Utah Judicial Council, has been assigned to develop recommendations to assure that adequate and appropriate indigent defense is provided consistently throughout the state. To meet this goal, information about the current structures and issues in providing such defense is critical.

Orginally submitted on 7/30/2012 to NTTAC. Entered into Dashboard on 3/5/2013.
Meetings took place on January 22, 2013 with state leaders where Mr. Carroll and Mr. Mosher presented information about the process, benefits, and limitations of an on-site study to evaluate a select sub-set of counties regarding indigent defense practices. No cost extension through January 2014 due to Government Shutdown.
