Milestone Description

This subgroup, consisting of nine members of the full ACAJ met twice in November and December to examine relevant findings from quantitative analysis of corrections data and qualitative system assessment to discuss possible policy options that would protect public safety, hold offenders accountable, and control corrections spending. Recommendations submitted to the full ACAJ include: requiring the results of a validated risk assessment to determine supervision contact; requiring the use of graduated sanctions to respond to supervision violations; limiting length of incarceration for parole and probation revocations; streamlining revocation hearings; establishing a geriatric parole option; and expanding medical parole eligibility. This subgroup also made recommendations related to future data collection and reinvestment options.

Milestone Description
