Provided remote TA to Ingram State Technical College in AL, and the ADOC.Provided information and resources to the Office of Senator Brian Schatz (HI) on offering college in prison. Connected staff at the Higher Education Initiative in TN to those in the NC Department of Public Safety regarding use of technology, specifically internet, in prisons. Provided remote TA to the University of Baltimore, as it developed a new college in prison program. Connecting staff there to those at Jackson College in MI, Rutgers University in NJ, Prison to College Pipeline at John Jay College in NYC, the Opportunity Institute in CA, and Bard Prison Initiative in NY. Provided remote TA to volunteers in the Missouri Department of Corrections, on providing college courses in prison. Spoke with and provided resources to Senator Al Fraken’s (MN) office regarding Ban the Box initiatives on college campuses. Provided TA via phone conference with Christopher Beasley from Washington College to discuss current college in prison programs in Washington State. Provided remote TA via phone conference with Northstar Correctional Education Services to discuss proposals they were developing to study college-prison partnerships that are part of the Second Chance Pell ESI. Provided TA assistance to the Denver CO, Community Reentry Project on supporting college attendance among students in jail. Provided resources to staff at the University of Wyoming seeking to build a stronger higher education in prison model with the Wyoming DOC. Provided remote TA to a doctoral student at Brandman University (part of the Chapman University System) in California, on June 8, 2016, on creating an educational pathway for incarcerated students in five Orange County, CA jails as part of her dissertation project. Provided remote TA to Tanya Erzen, Freedom Education Project Puget Sound. She was interested in better understanding the Pathways project and wanted to discuss her efforts to build a state-wide consortium in Washington.
