TLPI is collaborating with the National Congress of American Indians, Casey Family Programs and the California Tribal-State Court Forum to deliver this meeting/conference. NCAI works with Casey on intergovernmental collaboration on ICWA. Because of this nice fit, TLPI reached out to both organizations via conference call. Initials planning calls resulted in rough agenda items, dates, and location. The California forum offered to coordinate free meeting space for the meeting/conference in the LA Courthouse.
In collaboration with NCAI and our consultant, Bill Thorne, TLPI drafted an initial agenda for the June convening.
TLPI is generating a conference approval request form for this event. The form is nearing completion and should be submitted mid January.
On June 2-3, forty participants attended the National Convening of Tribal-State Court Forums. The agenda was a mix of substantive presentations along with individual presentations by the forums. There were lively discussions and valuable peer to peer networking. The evaluations (see performance metrics) show that participants were overwhelmingly pleased with the event and left with valuable information.
Please respond to the Performance Metrics below. The Performance Metrics questions are based on the TTA Type indicated in the General Information section of the TTA.
