Kimberly Cobb followed up with the 15 tribes that submitted an application for the IRWs but was not accepted to gauge their need for technical assistance. The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska responded to schedule a call to discuss onsite technical assistance needs. A call was scheduled with Kellie Snow, probation officer, on October 26, 2015 to discuss their technical assistance needs. Technical assistance summary and recommendations were drafted and submitted to BJA for review and approval on December 2, 2015 for APPA to come onsite and work with their probation officer, reentry and rehab specialist, and tribal healing to wellness court team on putting together a foundation for a reentry program premised on evidence based practices. BJA approved onsite technical assistance on December 17, 2015. Onsite technical assistance was conducted on January 12-14, 2016. Kimberly provided training to the attendees on reentry and evidence based practices then guided the group through exercises to map out their reentry process, identify potential target populations, and conduct resource/gap analysis.

Kim emailed Kellie regarding their application to participate in the Intergovernmental Reentry Workshop (IRW) back in the Spring (they were not selected to participate). I shared that I had technical assistance available to help them move forward with their reentry initiative. Kellie responded she was interested and a call was scheduled for 10/26/15.
Kellie Snow and Crystal Snowball joined me on a call to discuss their TA needs. They are seeking assisting defining Crystal's role as a reentry specialist/coordinator for youth returning from either a treatment facility or secure detention facility to their community. They are hoping to develop a comprehensive program to also work with families of youth (during the youths period of detainment/treatment) so that the youth returns to a healthier environment and the family is prepared for the youth to return.
Technical assistance recommendations will be drafted and forwarded to BJA for review/approval. We are tenatively planning for onsite TA the week of 12/14/15.
Kim Cobb submitted the technical assistance recommendations to BJA for approval for onsite technical assistance delivery. Because approval was not received in time for dates originally planned, alternate dates were selected. BJA approved on 12/17/15 for onsite delivery January 12-14, 2016.
Onsite technical assistance was delivered on January 12-14, 2016.
