New York City DOC has a designated consultant from The Moss Group that offices on site. This consultant has primary duties of carrying out the work of the FY15 Demonstration grant.
To this point, the three (3) priority areas have been identified for policy development; HR, Investigations, Classification & Screening. Additionally, meetings were held between the DOC and H&H for interactive session for policy and procedure development. Another is scheduled in July. A one-day policy workshop was held with the Department of Investigations in April and an interactive policy and procedure session was held with Classification & Screening. The Moss Group is also holding Leadership and Culture Change Workshops, Gender Responsive programming, and PCM Training.
MDC’s leadership team changed in May 2016. Leadership focus shifted to RMSC as initial PREA compliance audit site. Also completed TMG kickoff of DG2/Matching (RAM) contract meeting with Deputy Commissioner Cynthia Brann and PREA Compliance Manager on April 12, 2016, and progress report meeting June 6, 2016.
TMG held half-day Implementation Workgroups with PREA Coordinator on May 11, 2016, and July 11, 2016, and provided significant, ongoing remote technical assistance to PREA Coordinator and other team members. TMG delivered of six 4-hour sessions of employee training on June 21-23, 2016. Additional PREA Standards review sessions were held with the PREA Coordinator, PREA Compliance Managers (3), and Project Manager on June 30, July 8, and July 19, 2016.
TMG co-facilitated half-day Implementation Workgroups with PREA Coordinator in May and July 2016 and provided significant, ongoing remote technical assistance to PREA Coordinator and other team members. Half-day Implementation Workgroup meeting with PREA Coordinator is scheduled for September 21, 2016. Completed the delivery of six 4-hour sessions of employee training on June 21-23, 2016. Continued coordinating planning includes the selection of consultant teams, location logistics, training dates, etc. Identified RMSC as the initial mock audit site as the targeted technical assistance, and scheduled targeted completion date of December 31, 2016. TMG completed additional PREA Standards review session with PREA
Coordinator, PREA Compliance Managers (3), and Project Manager on June 30, July 8, and July 19, 2016. TMG holds technical support sessions and next one is planned for September 19, 2016 as well as Executive Team leadership and culture change workshops; next one being scheduled for September 27, 2016. Gender Responsive training is underway: next 2-day onsite train-the-trainers sessions scheduled for November 15-16, 2016 and January 18-19, 2017. 3.5-day onsite training for all facility PCM's scheduled for Oct 25-28, 2016.
