The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services - Juvenile Justice Services has been making steady progress toward the full implementation of the PREA. The agency's representative, Leslie Bittleston and the PREA Coach have had four telephone conversations discussing various aspects of the grant and the agency's policies and activities to date. Phone conversations were held on December 22, 2016, January 14, 2016, April 8, 2016, and May 6, 2018. During this time, the agency requested the coach review some PREA policies and the PREA Annual PREA Report. Ms. Bittleston has kept the coach informed the PREA audits that have been conducted in state juvenile facilities in Nevada. There have been no local facilities PREA audited as of this date. The state was also actively recruiting a PREA Coordinator. Another call will take place in July 2016.
Under Ms. Bittleston's leadership the agency is moving forward with its goal of fully implementing PREA. Future discussion will focus on how local juvenile facilities can be benefit from this plan
