The Maine Chiefs of Police Association requested training on mentoring strategies to improve retention and help new police chiefs and other supervisory level law enforcement succeed during their position transitions. The presentation will highlight the impact of providing mentoring support to aspiring and transitioning law enforcement leaders, identify some of the challenges faced by law enforcement executives, and build executive mentoring skills by working through real-life examples.

The Maine Chiefs of Police Association requested the mentor presentation. Chief Dave Kurz of Durham, NH was selected to present. The training date was set for April 15, and the location was determined.
The presentation was held April 15. Seven chiefs attended. Follow up with the requesting agency was done the following week.
