Based upon the quality of the webinars and other trainings hosted by BJA that I have attended we are hopeful that they can help us find some high profile presenters for our conference.

The Community Corrections Division of the Nebraska Crime Commission was created in 2011 and tasked with coordinating and collaborating with other criminal justice agencies to provide data and evaluation support for community corrections programs, research and promote evidence based programs and supervision strategies, and educate policymakers and the public regarding Community Corrections. The conference we are planning is a collaborative effort between our agency, the Nebraska Department of Corrections, the Office of Probation Administration, the Board of Parole, the Division of Behavioral Health, and the Nebraska State Patrol.

The conference we are planning is a collaborative effort between our agency, the Nebraska Department of Corrections, the Office of Probation Administration, the Board of Parole, the Division of Behavioral Health, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
Please describe the "Other" program areas
The theme of the conference is implementing evidence based decision-making across criminal justice and behavioral health systems. Supervision officers will receive a variety of training focused on effective evidence based supervision strategies, trauma and its impacts on supervision and a newly introduced substance use disorder curriculum. Continuing education will be available for Behavioral health providers in several areas, including criminogenic factors, trauma, and community based sex offender treatment. Options for policymakers include sessions on evidence based sentencing and how to formulate a collaborative statewide approach to community corrections and behavioral health issues.
