Please describe the type of assistance that was received and from whom

(Not entirely sure if this came through BJA.) We requested and received a facilitator and a keynote speaker from NCPC for a local gang prevention workshop that was held in December in Dorchester, MA.

How did you and/or your organization use the assistance that was provided?

The facilitator/moderator oversaw the implementation of the agenda, contributed to content development and kept the entire event on topic. The keynote speaker shared his personal experiences and motivated the audience in their gang prevention work with youth.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
A locally-focused gang prevention conference is scheduled for June 5, 2012. The audience will learn about law enforcement and community initiatives already in place, how they can take advantage of resources, what is being done in other areas, etc. This will build the capacity of existing organizations and enhance their ability to collaborate and improve their gang-prevention outcomes.
