Currently our Capital Case Litigation subgrantees, the Prosecuting Attorneys Council and the Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council, are requesting assistance with methods to evaluate the assess the performance and progression of their trainings and the development of their trainings. Currently they implement pre and post test, however, they are interested in learning of other evaluation methods. Additionally, they are requesting more training in regards to developing future trainings, agendas and materials for the training sessions for the defense and prosecuting attorneys. Currently, both agencies are utilizing the required “Bring your case file" training method but they are interested in learning more about other innovative subject areas and topics to enhance the training for capital case litigation.

Spoke with Victoria White at National District Attorney's Association about the funding they already receive to do training on Capital Litigation and if this request was a good fit. She said she thought it was but that Project Director Brent Berkley would have to make final decision. Left message for him and followed up with e-mail to both on 2.1.13. Made follow up call and sent follow up e-mail to Mr. Berkley on 2.11.13 asking if this was an appropriate referral under his award. Also sent e-mail on 2.11.13 to Ms. Stevenson letting her know that I have not heard from grantee yet and did receive her letter on letterhead. Received e-mail from Brent Berkley on 2.12.13 stating that he was certain that NDAA could provide services under their award, but that he had to get approval from his grant monitor, Alissa Huntoon. E-mail is attached to file. 2.21.13 Received e-mail from Ms. Stevenson inquiring as to whether or not the request had been approved. Responded and said that I would find out. Sent e-mail to Alissa Huntoon asking if she had made a decision. Received an e-mail on 2.22.13 from Alissa stating that she would put Aisha Ford the program manager for the requestor in touch with the provider directly. I sent a follow up e-mail to Monique Stevenson on 3.5.13 to see if Aisha had been contacted by the provider yet. Both stated that they have not yet been contacted. Sent e-mail on 3.6.13 to Alissa Huntoon asking her to check in with the providers and ask them to contact requester soon. Received e-mail from Alissa on 3.6.13 stating that she had personally contacted Monique Stevenson and that she explained the process and that she would be contacted directly by the providers. I sent an e-mail to Monique stating that her case was being closed as it had been referred.
